In 2002 we began looking for solutions to one of the most common concerns in
healthcare. How to sanitize the skin - hands in particular - protect people from
the harmful bacteria and viruses that exist where ever humans are...and not
subject the person using them to the drastic and harmful effects of soaps and
bacteria killers namely alcohol and pesticides.
Uses of alcohol and pesticides are rampant and have been the most common form
of personal protection available. For decades anyone who wanted to effectively
kill bacteria and viruses turned to alcohol and other harmful chemicals for
relief. Unfortunately the protection from pathogens came at a cost.
Alcohol and the others have lasting and drastic effect on the skin. Alcohol
products dry and crack the skin, de fat your fingers, burn in any crack or cut
etc. Alcohol is caustic and flammable...pesticides kill germs, insects, birds,
and humans...not a great combination.....need we say more?
After a long and unsuccessful search for the right product we determined
that what we sought for did not exist. That's when we started getting serious...
Our lengthy search took us through a thousand dead ends on the internet and
eventually to the Chemistry department of a local University and that is where
we found Dr. Walker, a leading expert in the field of quaternary ammonium
compounds...germ killers. Ed has a long and varied expertise in chemistry and
he was just who we needed and right here in our own back yard.
Once we had the expertise we went to work developing a product that had a
greater spectrum of kill than the others. One that actually helped and healed
the skin. And a product that had a high degree of persistence. That's right
persistence...Persistence is the ability of the product to stick to your skin
and kill germs for hours into the future. Those are tall orders and no one has
been able to do it until now.
Now we have the products and are ready to revolutionize the industry. Our
task now is to get this product into the hands of all humanity... No small task!
Nearly all disease is caused by germs that are spread from hand to
mouth, nose, eyes etc. Thus when one friend or family member gets sick the
infection spreads to others in the the household, office, school, nursery, church, etc. How do we stop
it? To stop the spread of harmful germs we must stop the transfer of germs to
people from other persons, countertops, telephones, doorknobs, banisters, elevator buttons, car seats,
etc. That task may be impossible, certainly daunting. Regardless of
the size of task we now have the technology to do it. The question remains, "How
do we do it?"
